A 16-5/16" Viola inspired by Andrea Guarneri
Constructed by David T. Van Zandt
With this instrument, I've taken inspiration from the violas of Andrea Guarneri. The one-piece willow back is quarter-cut, as are the sides. The neck and scroll are of lightly figured maple. This model has been successful for both Modern Performance and Period Performance, though the set-up and conception during construction are different for each. This instrument has been sold, but if you wish to learn more about the violas I make please feel free to contact me.
