Modern Violin inspired by
Joseph Guarneri del Gesu
Constructed by David T. Van Zandt in 2001

This "petite" violin is well suited for the musician looking for a smaller and more comfortable instrument.  It is designed with ease of playing in mind, with a slightly shorter body and string length, a thinner neck, less bold edgework, and a rounder upper bout than the larger del Gesu and Stradivari violin models I construct.  These smaller dimensions do not translate into a smaller sound in any way.  This instrument speaks very quickly and easily, with a full sound, rich in tonal colors at all volume levels.

Dimensions:

Body length 350 mm
Width at upper bout 116.25 mm
Width at "C" bout 109.75 mm
Width at lower bout 203.5 mm
Mensure 191+ mm
