Violin inspired by an early period instrument of
Joseph Guarneri del Gesu
Constructed by David T. Van Zandt
in 2003

This instrument, as with many of the early violins of Joseph Guarneri, del Gesu, has slightly smaller dimensions than his later instruments.  With it's rounded upper shoulders, slim neck, incrementally shorter string length and narrow edge-work this violin is exceptionally comfortable to perform upon.  It produces a dark, velvety sound with no loss of volume compared with violins of larger dimensions.

This violin was sold in October of 2004 through J. S. Holmes Fine Violins, LLC, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
