Brad Phillips

Brad Phillips has played his Van Zandt violin in string quartets, jazz ensembles, bluegrass bands, singer/songwriter bands, Celtic rock bands, pop string sections, recording sessions of all varieties…  and through it all, it never lets him down. Most recently, Brad has been playing this instrument on tour with the rock band The Verve Pipe, and the clarity and power required to rock is always there when he needs it.

Brad  was born and raised in Saline, MI. He graduated from The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance in 2007 with a degree in Jazz & Contemporary Improvisation and is an alumnus of the original Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic. He is driven by a passion to share the joy he has found in music with players at home and abroad.

A producer, composer, arranger, teacher and lover of all things music, Brad has toured the world, performing all across the United States to Ireland, Germany and the Czech Republic. He has deep roots in the music community as a former member of the highly acclaimed prog-Celtic band Millish,  is a regular sideman and producer for Jeff Daniels, Brian Vander Ark, The Verve Pipe, Joshua Davis, May Erlewine, Seth Bernard, and he frequently appears with Ark House Band the RFD Boys. He is on faculty at the Mark O’Connor strings camp at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
